NAME   Mythal  NICKNAME/ALIAS   All-Mother
Great Protector
Goddess of Love
AGE   xx  DATE OF BIRTH   xxxx  GENDER & PRONOUNS   female , she/her  ORIENTATION   ??

Benevolence  Mythal at her core is a benevolent, kind goddess that cares deeply for the elven people. As one of the First Elves, she has seen it as a duty to care for them and guide them following the War of Titans. Those who bear her mark are protected from harm and do not suffer in the same way as others would. However, they are also compelled to remain in service to her, their vallaslin binding them to her whims. It is the way in which she shows 'charity', though it as on her terms rather than theirs. Those who wish for her to intervene in their affairs must petition her directly, and should she find their desires to be of ill intent, she would smite them down just as quickly. Mythal will not allow her power to be used for malicious reasons nor to enrich oneself. One must prove themselves to be worthy of her favor before she will intervene on their behalf. The final flaw in here benevolence is that, if she decides it is for one's benefit, then she will act accordingly. Even if it ultimately harms the one being 'helped'. This thought process is the reason she choose to lead the Elven rather than stepping down as promised, deciding that their people needed someone to guide them. It is also why she has never interfered in the other "Gods" slaves, allowing it to happen so long as those who followed her were not touched. With how war-stricken the Evanuris already were, Mythal sought to solve their issues with diplomacy, striking bargains where needed. Righteousness  As a Spirit that chose to don a physical form, she is not immune to the way emotions can be twisted and corrupted. When the world was as she deemed it should be, her kind and gracious nature remained intact. When she felt it wasn't, fiery righteousness coursed through her veins, giving way to the more violent side of her. She was completely willing to smite those who attempted to use her favor for wrongdoings. Petitioning her was not a guarantee of anything - there was risk involved. It was this righteousness that reared its head when Fen'Harel betrayed them, his rebellion striking discord between her and the other 'Gods'. She cared deeply for him, more so than any of the other Elven, and felt slighted by his decision. Mythal truly believed that their people required leaders to guide them, deciding that it was best for her to rule beside Elgar'nan to try and curb his tyrannical nature. However, she was not ignorant and did not consider Fen'Harel an enemy per say. Misguided, perhaps, but she knew he meant well. It was why, when he approached her with his accusations regarding the blight, she took it seriously and attempted to intervene without bloodshed. Only to be betrayed and killed for it.

Slavery  Those who bore Mythal's markings were always willing servants. She did not keep slaves nor did she force anyone to bear her mark, but those who did were compelled by her own whims following. One would gave her favor and protection but would be bound to her permanently. All of her servants, when their life was coming to an end, would pass their knowledge on to the vir'abelasan. Also known as the Well of Sorrows, it is an accumulation of knowledge from the ancient elves and was considered the price for her protection throughout their life.Mythal did not intervene in the slavery practices held by the other Evanuris. She was considered a voice of reason and did not approve of inner-conflict among the Evanuris - she was constantly intervening and finding more diplomatic ways to settle issues. However, her benevolence was for the elven people as a whole and sacrificing one for the many was not beyond her. However, she was not a fool, and took Solas's warning about the blight seriously. Though she would not go as far as he did by starting more war and conflict, she did attempt diplomacy to dissuade the other Evanuris from using the blight.

Elvhenan Society   The main Elven Pantheon were the strongest of the Evanuris, but not the only ones considered apart of that group. Following the War of Titans, there were countless power struggles between them until the remaining Nine were left, though Fen'Harel did not consider himself to be a god. Those beneath them were nobles 'chosen' by the Evanuris and did not bear any vallaslin but were still subservient to the Evanuris. They also owned the same slaves that served the Evanuris, their vallaslin based on whichever deity the noble followed. Those markings allowed their slaves to be controlled, but once the Veil was created and the elves connection to the fade was sundered, the ability was lost. Those markings were left as merely tattoos and the true nature of them lost to time. Mythal is not capable of compelling one even with her markings in current times still - only through a willing connect to her ( through the vir'abelasan or as a host of her fragment ).

Spirit - War of Titans Era   In times long past, the elves did not exist in the manner that they do in the Dragon age. Before, they were spirits of the fade, embodying different aspects of the waking world. Some of which no longer exist in this world today, their concepts long forgotten to the waking world. Mythal herself was originally a Spirit of Benevolence, one who valued goodwill and charitableness above all else. However, she also held the waking world to rigid standards, and her benevolence could shift into righteous retribution in times where it did not meet her standards. Such was the way of Spirits, beings who embodied specific values and found it difficult to reconcile with the complexity of mortal emotions.Mythal, along with the other First Elves, chose to craft physical bodies using raw lyrium stolen from the Titans. At the time, they were not aware of the source of the lyrium, only that the ground shook beneath them as they tapped into it. She convinced Solas, at the time a Spirit of Wisdom, to cross over into the waking world to serve her with his wisdom. He did not agree readily at first, wary of the tremors that resulted at their extraction of lyrium and not truly interested in leaving the fade. Still, she persisted and he eventually relented, Mythal convincing him that she needed his wisdom to counter Elgar'nan's influence. However, the action of using lyrium to craft their bodies angered and hurt the Titans, causing a war to erupt between the two. In their time of need, the Evanuris rose up in defense of the First Elves, a large collection of powerful mages among the First Elves. In modern times, the Evanuris consist of nine individuals in total, including Fen’Harel. However, the true Evanuris was composed of many more warlords and generals, their names lost to time. Their War against the Titans was relentless, and while the First Elves were indeed strong, their struggle began to shift in the Titans favor. In response, Mythal had Solas craft a lyrium dagger with the power to shift the tides of war. It would allow them to sunder the Titan’s souls from their bodies, leaving them tranquil and their dreams trapped in the fade. He warned her of the consequences of doing so but Mythal took the dagger anyways, proclaiming it was the only way to settle this war for good. It did. The severed dreams of the Titans mutated in response, turning into the blight and taint that would threaten the world once again. Solas banished the blight to a prison known as the Black City, the structure still remaining in the Fade to this day. Spirits avoid it.With the Titans left tranquil, the war ended and left the First Elves victorious. However, the Evanuris did not keep the promise they had made prior, establishing themselves as the “Gods” of the elven people. Despite her close bond with Solas, Mythal agreed with Elgar'nan, choosing to rule by his side to “guide” the elven people from that moment on. Of all the Evanuris, only Solas refused, instead opting to rebel against the “tyrannical’ gods. Mythal was included in this despite her friendship with Solas.  Elvhenan  In the times of Elvhenan, the Evanuris ruled over their Elves with varying degrees of tyrannicalness. Their rule was not amicable and the Evanuris often warred with each other for power. Despite the initial nine - including Fen’harel - known to the Dalish, the Evanuris was much larger and consisted of various generals and warlords that fought the Titans previously. In the wake of newfound ‘peace’, there was an initial power struggle, with both Mythal and Elgar'nan rising to the top. Mythal forced Elgar’nan to share power, determined to lead their people with the same ‘Benevolence’ she had embodied prior. However, benevolence is not an incorruptible feeling, one still capable of upholding those ideals while still enabling harm to others. When one makes decisions on behalf of another, for instance, it is still possible to act ‘benevolent’ while still hurting the ones being ‘helped’. With Mythal, it was demonstrated when she allowed the elven people to be enslaved, vallaslin etched onto their skin as a branding. Those who bore her vallaslin could only be ‘willing’ servants, but this did not exclude those ‘compelled’ into service. Along with the other Evanuris, she herself enjoyed the rewards of “Godhood”, though was also considered the voice of reason amongst them. She often intervened in arguments between the Evanuris, diffusing the situation and offering alternatives in order to prevent war. Though she was considered the “All-Mother” and just, much of her ‘protection’ was limited to those in her service. Mythal did not overstep into the other Evanuris’s jurisdiction unless it affected the Elven as a whole.Their ‘empire’ did not start out, however, as Gods leading their people. As they wielded the power of the titan’s souls to shape the land and their people, their influence over their people grew. Despite the Evanuris themselves being vast, the eight - excluding Fen’harel - rose to the very top, establishing themselves as Gods. The others did not ascend to “Godhood” in the same fashion but became nobles instead, their faces left unmarked (if chosen to) in exchange for service towards their chosen “Gods”. These nobles enslaved the rest of the elven people, branding them with the vallisan of their favored gods. Mythal did not intervene in this practice beyond forbidding any harm to come to those branded by her vallisan. It was her own form of “benevolence” to those in her service and she was known to intervene on their behalf should the nobles in her service go against her wishes.Despite her bond with Fen’Harel, she did not agree with his rebellion, still in full belief that the elven people needed guidance. She saw it as an act of rebellion not just against the elven people but her as well, firmly rooted in her beliefs that she was doing right by her people. A part of her was angry at his actions, watching as they destabilized the Elvhenan as a whole. Yet, she still regarded his advice and wisdom as a boon, willing to listen when he spoke of the rumors of blight being wielded as a weapon. Even she could not overlook such an accusation, fully aware of the blight’s corruptive abilities she had witnessed before Solas had sealed it. Mythal attempted to intervene as she had in the past with words and wisdom on Solas’s behalf, only to be betrayed by the Evanuris and ‘killed’.  Post - Elvhenan  Despite her ‘death’, Mythal still persisted beyond the betrayal of her kin, a fragment of what she used to be. This fragment traveled through the ages, residing within various elven and human hosts in order to accumulate her power once again. She only chose willing hosts who were sympathetic to her plight, allowing her spirit to reside within them until she moved on to the next host. Each iteration of her allowed her to foster her power over the ages, accumulating their shared knowledge similar to that of the Well of Sorrows. Those who agreed to shelter her were often given a boon of some kind, the fragment coming to their aid in times of need. Though Mythal would not allow herself or her power to be used for a wicked deed, including forcing another to accept her unwillingly. Her hosts often lived lives but were not immutable - they could be killed just as any other mortal. When they died, Mythal’s wisp would escape and seek out a new host, keeping their memories stored within.Mythal’s experiences with the elves and humans of Thedas change her for the better, allowing her to come to terms and reconcile with her error in judgement. She is given the opportunity to live in this new world and understand the consequences of the Evanuris’s actions so long ago. Unlike the fragment of her that is trapped in the crossroads, she comes to terms with the Veil and the new world shaped by its damage. Mythal’s benevolence is no longer confined to just the elven but Thedas as a whole, though her hosts remain solely human or elven. The Qun’s rigid structure would never allow one of their Qunari to host her and dwarves are incapable of doing so.While she does regain a fraction of her power, Mythal can never again return to her formy glory in its entirety. Her lifeforce is sustained only by willing hosts, where their personalities are often dominant. Mythal’s power and memories may be intertwined with them, but they do retain control for the most part. She can compel as needed should they attempt to wield her power for wrongdoing, but her hosts are selected with care. They must make their case before her and she has rejected some a few times. In Flemeth’s case, she is able to observe her daughters to determine their worthiness, accepting Morrigan as her successor after witnessing her deeds over the ages. Though she does not take over her willingly - it is, as always, a choice Morrigan must make.
Elvhenan - All Mother        Canon. This verse follows Mythal in ancient times, when Elvhenan still existed. Following the War of Titans, Mythal establishes herself as one of the rulers of the Elven beside the rest of the Pantheon. She is considered to be a kind and gracious ruler, but does not intervene in other Evanuris's matters until it affects the elven people as a whole. Those in her service as there willingly, but compelled from that point forward to concede to her whims.
Unlike the other Evanuris, those who bear her mark are protected from harm, but run the risk of her judgement all the same. Though she cares for the Elven people as a whole, that same graciousness is not extended nor does she often intervene unless they petition her directly.✦ Default does not assume anything more than joint-rulership with Elgar'nan. Anything more must be discussed.✦ She is an incredibly powerful mage, enough to be respected as a ruler beside Elgar'nan. Mythal does not accept disrespect - she may be kind but she is not a doormat.✦ Set after the War of Titans, but can also plot prior as well as needed.

Fragment - Righteousness       Canon. This verse is centered around the fragment trapped in the crossroads by Solas, the one that is more Righteousness than Benevolence. She has watched the world change for a thousand years, trapped where Solas left her after extracting her shard from the dagger. Unlike the other fragment, she has never experienced the change in the world directly, merely observing on the sidelines. Thus she is still stubborn in her ways, demanding to be petitioned properly rather than conceding willingly. If she does not find someone worthy, she will smite them just as easily.
As is Mythal's way, she is not fond of being wrong but is capable of shifting her opinion as deemed necessary. She has simply never had a chance to before, trapped in the crossroads by herself. She is the closest to who Mythal was, but is still but a fragment.

Fragment - Benevolence       Canon. This verse is centered around the fragment that travels from host to host in the waking world, accumulating power through experience over time. It is most reflective of the benevolence she embodied when she first crafted a mortal form and is everchanging. She is farthest from who she was when she was apart of the Evanuris and has grown and settled her own regrets. Those in Thedas - not just the Elven - are people she considers worthy of living a life in the world that it is.
✦ The one that resides in Flemeth, Morrigan and many others. It has changed quite a bit.✦ Merges with the other fragment at the end of Veilguard to become a bigger piece of Mythal.

Veilguard        Canon. Follows along the canon events of Veilguard from Act I to Act III. While Taash doesn't identify as nonbinary until later I will always write and address them as such.
Ben-Hassrath       AU. An alternate take on Taash where they remain with the Qun. Shathann is stopped before they can escape with Taash after their Adaari blood is discovered. They remain in Par Vollen and are raised as apart of the Antaam instead. Unlike in canon, Taash is taught to embrace both their rage & their fire, becoming a highly effective brawler with extremely controlled fire. However, when the Antaam broke free of the Qun, Taash chose to remain with the Qun alongside a few others who also defect from the Antaam. After the Antaam are gone, the remaining are interrgated and eventually assimiliated into different parts of the remaining Qun. Taash is brought into the Ben-Hassrath specifically, continuing their training under their guidance before eventually being sent to Northern Thedas to track the Antaam's movements. They make contact with the Veilguard on the Ben-Hassreth's behalf on the shores of Rivain, offering their services.

9:29 - 9:45 Dragon  Taash was born in Par Vollen, the Qunari homeland north of Rivain. Originally born into the Qun, Shathann is the only family member they know of. Under the Qun, family units do not exist and all births are controlled. Shathann conceiving with Taash’s “Father” was arranged, their role ending once Taash was born. There was no expectation of change and Shathann had intended to return to their scholar role until Taash was discovered to be an Adaari. For the first time, Shathann felt fear and uncertainty knowing their child was destined to be conscripted into the Antaam. In order to spare Taash from possible death in the future, Shathann arranged for a transfer to Kont-aar in Rivain to serve as a priest. Kont-aar is a port city in the Northern part of Rivain, the only peaceful Qunari settlement there. Once the arrangements were made, Shathann smuggled an infant Taash to Kont-aar and then left as soon as they arrived. They booked passage towards Western Rivain, eventually making contact with the Lords of Fortune where Shathann would offer their services as a Scholar. As a result of Shathaan’s efforts, Taash was raised outside of the Qun to a degree. Shathann never fully left the Qun, just Par Vollen, so they instilled many Qun beliefs onto Taash. Taash was taught Qunlat as well as many cultural rituals like dar-saam. Without the cultural impact from being surrounded by the Qun, Taash would often struggle with fully understanding the meaning behind it all. All they really saw was them struggling and Shathann criticizing them, resulting in Taash feeling like a misfit in their home. Despite this, they did put effort into learning and eventually perfecting their technique to a degree.Taash also struggled with Shathaan’s lack of warmth one would expect from a parent. Shathaan was raised to be critical and logical - Taash was surrounded by a culture that expected differently from parents. They saw how other children interacted with their families and desired it too, but Shathaan could not offer it. It frustrated Taash for many reasons, as they both wanted it but felt ashamed that they did. This growing frustration did not mix well with the natural anger they felt from their Adaari blood, resulting in Taash often lashing out at others. Attempting to curb their own near-uncontrollable anger, Taash opted to limit how much they spoke in order to reduce any chances of conflict. It resulted in them not getting along well with other children, leading them to mostly play on their own.Outside of their home, Taash could often be found running around on the coast digging for ‘treasures’ buried in the sand. They were fond of shells and bones, occasionally taking the rare crab back as well for Shathaan to cook with. The best part of their explorations were the dragons that flew overhead, resulting in Taash developing a special interest in them. Shathaan managed to acquire several books for Taash on the subject after noticing their interest. Taash would take their books outside with them on their little adventures, determined to figure out what kind of dragons were flying around. It did, however, cause another conflict - getting Taash back inside at a reasonable hour. Shathaan resorted to telling them many fantastical tales about the Antivan Crows to convince her child to return home. For example, they informed them that Crows couldn’t kill people that were asleep and that was why they needed to be in bed on time and asleep. The Crows became an unexpected part of Taash’s childhood, the reason why Taash couldn’t get new clothes or eat at the fancy restaurants. What Shathaan didn’t expect, however, was that Taash would find them just as cool as dragons. They stopped telling them stories after finding Taash on their roof one day, wielding two of their knives with the tablecloth wrapped around their neck. Though the stories stopped, Taash’s fascination with the Crows never ceased. As the years passed, Taash learned from both Shathann and the people of Rivain. Their fire strengthened over time but their control waned - many things were scorched due to outbursts of high emotion. Taash endeavored to work on control while still trying to hide it.  9:46 - 9:52 Dragon  At the age of 16, Taash officially joins the Lords of Fortune after proving their strength to both the Lords and their mother. All of their initial jobs are small-scale treasure hunts, nothing too dangerous but challenging enough to slowly ease them into it. After Taash’s first job, they buy a fancy dress to replace the one Shathann had worn for years to the point that it was barely holding together. They were proud to finally be able to contribute to the household, fully aware by this point that they had lived in poverty. Unfortunately Shathann only criticizes the decision, stating the money should have been used to by them new boots instead.Frustrated with Shathann by this point, Taash opts to spend more time with the Lords of Fortune rather than lingering at home. The constant criticism and lack of praise had worn down Taash’s patience over time, but they didn’t want to be angry at their Mother. So they opted to create some distance, still visiting and sending coin back occasionally. Time away gave them a new perspective on life and they slowly grew just a bit more confident in themselves and their ability.Life with the Lords was vastly different for Taash, as their home life had been more controlled and rigid. Instead of that, they found chaos and warmth with the Crew, something that grew on Taash quickly. They enjoyed the drinking games and utter lack of self-respect at times, even if they didn’t partake in alcohol until a few years later. Taash’s control over their fire actually grew quicker than it did at home, possibly due to the potential of blowing up a bar if they weren’t too careful. Regardless, Taash felt more at home surrounded by their fellow Rivainis than they had with Shathann.Taash began experimenting more with themselves and their love life in between jobs, hooking up with different kinds of people for fun. It let them explore their sexuality in a comfortable environment, though they also discovered their fire was a little too reactive occasionally. Thankfully the girl whose hair they lit on fire was more amused than anything else. During this time they discovered the concept of trans and nonbinary but was not entirely sure what that meant to them at the time. All they knew was that as time passed, they found themselves not quite feeling right when addressed as ‘she’.As the years passed Taash established themselves as a reputable treasure hunter and experienced dragon hunter, though killing dragons was always a last resort for them. Their jobs became tougher but the pay increased as well - much of which they sent back to Shathann despite her protests. A lot of their jobs started focusing on the local dragons, both in fighting them and stealing from their hoards. While Taash does enjoy fighting dragons, having to kill one isn’t an entirely happy affair for them. They have come to terms with it though, accepting that it is a necessary evil.During one of their jobs, Taash is arrested by the Qunari after being betrayed by their fellow Lord of Fortune Declan. They’re taken to a Qunari prison to answer for their crimes against the Qun, only to be freed by their friend Nadia Carcosa. Of course, a Gamordan Stormrider attacks the prison where they were held, Taash immediately running off to handle it. Taash’s freedom is secured by Nadia when she saves a Qunari child from being killed and bargains for the death of the dragon in exchange. Taash takes charge of the Qunari for a brief moment, helping them bring down the dragon before it can cause any more harm. Taash sails back to Rivain afterwards, spreading the word about the betrayal of Declan.  9:53 Dragon  Taash is considered an expert in their field despite their young age, having felled many dragons and secured treasure from all over Rivain. They own a home in Rivain near their mothers, who they visit semi-frequently in order to reassure her. At this point in time they had been questioning themself for a long time but the lacked the right person to confide in. Even other members of the Lords they felt cautious about, especially after Declan's betrayal. With the Antaam loose in Rivain, Taash has been forced to hide their fire completely in order to avoid detection. Instead of venturing off on longer jobs they stick close to home, building trust with a local dragon and keeping an eye on the Antaam that have slowly began claiming the coastline.Notes✦ Though part of Taash's journey is discovering their identity, which they don't do until later, I will always use they/them pronouns in all of my writing. Please do the same as well!✦ Shathann is a big part of their character and their own personal journey. Their relationship is incredibly complex and not simply watered down to 'Taash hates their mother' because they don't. I also take into consideration the different cultures at play here - Qunari and Rivaini - as well as have my own personal experience with an emotionally unavailable parent that criticizes every little thing.✦ Is Shathann in the wrong? Yes of course! Even if you push Taash towards Qunari culture instead Shathann still complains about it. Shathann's inability to both properly communicate and find middle ground with Taash in a way they can understand is the main issue between them. Taash has made many attempts to try to understand their mother as well as show love for them, only to be rebuked. However they also acknowledge their mother still follows the Qun and knows they were not raised to be a Tamassran. Taash does understand the basics of Qun - just not the deeper meaning behind things.

  Veilguard        Canon.
Follows along with current events in Veilguard from Act I to Act III. I do not presume any decisions regarding Treviso for my main verse- I prefer abiding by other Rook's choices if possible. As of Veilguard, he is currently in a relationship with Teia, but this is not default for other Teias unless we discuss it first.

  Prince       AU.
Can follow any of the timelines in Dragon Age.
After rising through the ranks rapidly, Viago is requested to the palace by the Queen-Consort of Antiva. His ability and ambition had been noticed by the royals over the years, especially in comparison to those in the line of succession. Wanting to expand the Crown's power finally after years of conceding to the Merchant Princes, the Queen-Consort offers him a deal. He would be added to the line of succession once more in exchange for expanding the Crown's power within the Crows.Viago accepts the terms, angering House Valisti in the process. Tensions between the two Houses are higher than ever before, but Prince Viago hardly cares.

  Master Assassin       Canon.
Pre-Veilguard timeline while Viago was still just a Master Assassin as opposed to the Talon of De Riva. He can be just about anywhere due to contracts taking him all over Thedas. He is not in a relationship with Teia Cantori at this time. They are only friends.

9:15 - 9:28 Dragon  Viago was born to King Fulgeno II and Livia, one of the many maids that attended to the Antivan royal family. It was no secret that the King bedded many women, siring an absurd amount of illegitimate heirs over the years. Viago was simply one among many, not the youngest nor the oldest. His earliest memories involve toddling along behind his mother as she tended to the palace, practically invisible to the royal family as they dealt with the scandal brewing. He had in fact met a few of his half-siblings but never maintained contact due to the rising tensions between the King’s many mistresses and the Queen-Consort.When he was five, in order to protect the line of succession, he was offered a choice alongside the other illegitimate heirs. Viago could accept being exiled from Antiva in exchange for a life of luxury or remain in Antiva under the Crows, forfeiting his right to succeed entirely. Of all the children, Viago was the only one to join the Crows, his ambition strong even in his youth. The rest of the children were sent to live in exile across Thedas. Unlike the children, the mistresses of King Fulgeno II were all killed for their ‘treachery’ against the Queen-Consort to avoid encouraging any future mistresses to attempt to bed the King. It is one of the many reasons he looks upon his Father with contempt, though his anger has tempered significantly over the years. Now he simply sees the weakness of the Crown. As the outlier amongst the bastard children, Viago caught the attention of the Heir present the day he made his decision. That same Heir would bid and eventually win the right to train Viago alongside several other recruits he had picked up over the course of a month. Viago’s heritage mattered little to his Heir, the senior Crow training him just as harshly as the rest of the children under his care. It was this treatment that actually allowed Vaigo to respect him, the boy taking to his training rather quickly. At the beginning Vaigo even initially developed close bonds with the other fledglings under the Heir’s care. That is, until their Heir changed the rules halfway through. Suddenly it was established that only a few of them would earn the recognition of the Crows, pitting the children against each other. Viago learned very quickly to trust nobody, developing a severe sense of paranoia over the years. After one incident where he nearly died from being poisoned he became guarded. Viago no longer allowed anyone to touch his belongings, food, or even himself. It eventually developed into haphephobia, though thankfully not as severe as it could be. This decision is what allowed him to succeed though, the boy eventually gaining full status as an assassin at the age of 13.
At the end of his training he was recruited by House de Riva, his Heir revealed to be a member of them only after he accepted.
9:28 - 9:45 Dragon  Unlike many Crows, Viago has never received his tattoo marking him as a member of House De Riva. The boy flew into a rage the moment they attempted to touch him, nearly killing the Crows responsible for the process. It was only his lineage that protected him from being killed for insubordination, a fact he is all too aware of. Instead he was punished with mediocre, cheap contracts for a while, unable to accumulate much coin himself for several years. Viago was annoyed by the punishment but relented, preferring this to having anyone touch his skin with a chemical.During this time Viago also began working with poisons, spending long nights in his makeshift lab. He developed several new poisons over the years, naming them ‘affectionately’ with custom names. Some of these names included “Pillow Talk, the Snuff of Legends, Meet the Maker, and Up and Adder”. While they were indiscernible to outsiders, Viago knew the components and antidote to each one of his poisons by heart. His talent became known quickly, the assassin eventually rising in the ranks and paying off the small amount of debt his initial rejection had accumulated. Once he was no longer burdened by the additional coin owed to House De Riva, Viago began investing in better equipment and perfecting his techniques.By the time he was in his early twenties, Viago was considered a master assassin on track to replacing the guildmaster of House de Riva in the future. It was also around this time he became more acquainted with the likes of Andarateia Cantori and the Dellamorte boys. They developed a ‘friendship’ built on respect of each other's work, though the other three often gave Viago migraines. Illario and Lucanis were two rowdy while Teia was too insistent on teasing him relentlessly. Their behavior eventually caused Viago to develop milder poisons, not enough to kill but enough to incapacitate in case he needed to do so. Illario and Lucanis were the prime subjects for his ‘punishments’ for annoying the shit out of him, though Teia came close.Viago developed a crush on Teia during this time, though her reputation deterred him from pursuing anything. Seeing her with others had caused him to develop a few insecurities, Viago’s trust issues only amplifying them. Teia was simply too beautiful for the likes of him, especially in comparison to those she hooked up with. He was afraid that should he somehow manage to win her favor he would lose it to another, resulting in a bit of unresolved tension between them. At the age of 30, Vaigo succeeded the previous guildmaster of House De Riva and eventually became the Fifth Talon of the Crows as a result. A few years later Teia would also join the Talons as the Seventh Talon, his unresolved crush from before blossoming into a problem once again.  9:45 - 9:53 Dragon  In 9:45, the Antaam officially broke away from the Qun under the leadership of Rasaan and began invading Tevinter first before turning their sights on Antiva. However, before beginning their invasion, the Antaam chose to first cripple the Antivan Crows. As Antiva had no official standing army, the Antivan Crows were all that stood between the Antaam and their prize. Approaching Emil Kortez, the Fourth Talon of the Crows, they brokered a deal to offer a peaceful invasion in exchange for the lives of the Crow’s Talons. All Eight Talons of the Crows were called to Verdant Isle for the first time in a long time in order to address the issue of the Antaam. Viago was not as comfortable with the idea given the danger but relented, Caterina Dellamorte’s authority intimidating even Viago. It was there he also met the other Talons for the first time in a while as well, the man resentful of Dante Balazar specifically due to his own feelings for Teia Cantori. Though the man was ‘innocent’ enough, Viago could not help but compare himself to the other.Days later led to the killing of four Talons in quick succession, suspicion placed on Viago due to his specialty with poisons. He was locked away in his room temporarily, eventually developing a plan with Teia in secret to try to discover the true killer. During their search he was nearly killed when a snake was hidden in his dresser, poisoning the man as it lunged out and bit him. It was only his tolerance to poison that gave Teia enough time to administer the poison, the two reconciling briefly before moving to apprehend the culprit. Emil Kortez was killed for his treachery but the damage had already been done. With Four of their Talons dead and the Houses scrambling to replace them, the Antaam invaded Treviso with ease.Following the invasion, the Talons began working towards disrupting the Antaam and pushing back to prevent Antiva from falling. It was during this that a certain ‘Crow’ from House De Riva eventually disrupts on of their plans, forcing Viago to send them away to protect them.

Hunterix        Canon. This verse follows Rumi as a member of Hunterix. She is the leader of Hunterix as well as it's lead vocalist. She is considered a major pop star in not only Korea but across the world as well. Can take place before, during, or after the events of the movie. Default: Rumi's markings are unknown unless discussed or plotted after the movie events that reveal it.

Dragon Age       Crossover. Rumi is a seer from Rivain with a special connection to spirits & demons. Her mother, Ryu, was a Seer previously that unintentionally bore a child conceived with a demon. Though Rumi was born healthy, the demon's magic came at a cost - it stole Ryu's life from her. Left to Celine's care, another Seer, Rumi was trained in the same arts as her mother practiced. Eventually she learned a special school of magic that involved her voice, using it to soothe spirits and strengthen the protection around various Rivaini villages. She would eventually form a small traveling group with two other Seers - Zoey and Mira.

Early Beginnings  Rumi is the sole daughter of Ryu Miyeong, a former Sunlight Sister member, and an unknown demon father. Ryu Miyeong was one of the previous generation’s Demon hunters who sought to strengthen the Honmoon through the use of her voice. She fell in love with a Jeoseung-saja, a type of demon known to ferry - or in this case steal - the souls of the living. Unlike most demons, though they are still controlled by Gwi-ma, they aren't necessarily loyal to him. Ryu kept her love a secret from the other Sunlight Sisters as she believed they could not reconcile with the idea of a kind demon. Their love reached the point of conceiving a child together. As a consequence of defying Gwi-ma and 'betraying' the other demons, Rumi's father was killed though the secret of Rumi remained. However, it came at a cost, Ryu’s health deteriorating rapidly due to the Jeoseung-saja’s influence left inside her body. Ryu stepped back from the Sunlight Sisters for a while following their successful Gut , focusing on both her health and the new life growing within. She successfully delivered Rumi and kept her a secret from the other Sunlight Sisters for a while until she was on her deathbed. Ryu begged Celine to promise to care for everything she left behind, leaving out the reality of Rumi until she had already passed. Celine reluctantly took Rumi under her care despite his misgivings about her identity as a half-demon.Celine had not understood the meaning being Ryu’s words until she was faced with her daughter, the patterns on her arms undeniable. She was a child of Ryu and a demon, though the power behind her voice was unmistakable too - she was a born hunter through her blood connection to Ryu. Everything she had been taught told Celine this was wrong, but she had made a promise - an oath - and would not break it. So she took on the role of Rumi’s foster mother, raising her to succeed her mother as one of the Hunters who would maintain and strengthen the Honmoon.  Training -> Debut   Heavily headcanoned ; exttremely flexible for plotting purposesRumi was taught to keep her patterns covered up at all times, never allowing anyone besides Celine to see them. Even Celine preferred to not see them, ensuring the young girl understood the dangers of demons and what her markings would say about her. As she had nobody else in her life, Rumi believed Celine wholeheartedly, perceiving her markings as a mistake that could one day be corrected. Celine told stories of the Honmoon and how it could be changed to golden with enough power. Though the Sunlight Sisters had been unable to transform it into a more permanent fixture, the woman hoped that the next generation could succeed where they failed. According to her, it was Rumi’s only chance. So the young girl worked dutifully in order to hone both her vocal skills and fighting abilities. She took to more traditional martial arts, eventually manifesting her spirit weapon into the shape of a Saingeom. Rumi trained with a mok-geom after her spirit weapon manifested in order to avoid hurting herself or others. Though the Saingeom is not known for it’s practicalness in real combat, due to being a spirit weapon, it was still highly dangerous in the hands of an untrained swordsman. A lot of her early childhood was spent mostly in solitude due to Celine’s concerns about her markings. She was homeschooled and kept away from other children for a long time unless Celine was accompanying her.As she grew and honed her own magical abilities, Celine began searching for the two others who would join her as Hunters. Using her connections through her old agency when she was performing, she began recruiting for a new pop group that would debut as a trio. Hunters are unique in that they not only require the voice but the spiritual aptitude to see the Honmoon and demons. A majority of humans cannot see demons otherwise - and those that can often don’t have the power or voice to combat them. Those that are chosen rather than being born as a Hunter experience Mubyŏng, or spirit possession sickness, which involves the sudden onset of dreams involving both visions of demons and the others connected to the Honmoon. As Rumi’s induction was hereditary, she was not afraid when the dreams came to her, instead jotting down the details of the two other girls she saw in order to assist Celine in her search. She would eventually accompany Celine while she did her ‘talent scouting’ in order to find the girls Rumi had witnessed in her dreams. This would eventually lead her to both Mira and Zoey - both of whom were recruited by Celine almost immediately. In order to bring them back to begin training, Celine negotiated contracts to have them sent to a private training camp that “focused” on building them up as a pop group. However, the truth was that they also focused on their combat skills in order to help them fight demons.Rumi didn’t really know what to make of the other two girls at first since she had spent little time with others due to Celine’s guidance. She was a little shy at first, hesitant to speak and extremely cautious due to the markings she was encouraged to hide. A lot of the time she only interacted with the other two when it was necessary, preferring to train by herself in order to better protect her secret. But, as time passed and she spent more time with Zoey and Mira, those walls slowly began to crumble. Not completely of course - she could never tell them about the markings on her body - but enough that she felt comfortable around them. They became her greatest of friends, and when they debuted together, Rumi had never been happier.  Hunterix -> Beyond  As a member of Hunterix, Rumi is the lead vocalist and leader of their group. She shares the spotlight equally with Mira and Zoey but is always the center of attention on most of their merchandise and content when the three are present. Rumi does a lot of the speaking on behalf of the group but always keeps Zoey and Mira looped in for the most part. She also determines when their singles release as well as which gigs they’ll be taking. Though she does always try to take their feelings on matters into account.Celine did a lot of the managing of the group early on before Bobby took over officially as the group’s manager. She was affiliated with the same agency when she was a part of the Sunlight Sisters and thus had a lot of sway in decisions. Eventually, when she felt confident in the girl’s ability to handle themselves, she stepped back to allow them to pursue their own path. Mostly. Celine returned to her and Rumi’s hometown, though her influence remained. Rumi has always kept Celine up to date with the group's progress as well as the condition of the Honmoon even though they both were capable of seeing it.

Important Metas

Meta: Hunters, Rites, & InitiationHunters are either born into the art through bloodline ( Seseummu ) or chosen ( Kangshinmu ). Rumi, for example, was born into it through her mother Ryu’s blood as a Hunter. Mira and Zoey were chosen by Celine but experienced Mubyŏng (spirit possession sickness) in the form of dreams and nightmares shared between the three. This allowed Rumi to identify them on sight while she accompanied Celine on her scouting tours in an attempt to locate this generation’s Hunters. Hunters are basically a type of Mudang, or Korean shamans, that perform their own version of a Gut in order to strengthen the Honmoon.A Gut is a rite performed by Mudangs, in this case it would be the Hunters, where they beg the Gods to intervene for the benefit of the humans present. There are different types, but the ones the Hunters perform would be most closely associated with a Dodang-gut which aims to promote the wellbeing of a village. In this case, it would be both the world and the Honmoon. In order for a Hunter not born through blood to become connected properly to the Honmoon, they must undergo a Naerim-gut - an initiation rite - in order to stabilize their connection. This is always performed by a Hunter from the previous generation. In this case, it would be Celine. As Rumi was connected through her heritage, she did not need to undergo a Naerim-gut but did witness Zoey and Mira’s. As the current Leader of Hunterix, she is expected to perform the Naerim-gut for the next generation.Meta - Demonic HeritageRumi's father is a Jeoseung-saja , or a reaper of souls. Unlike most demons, Jeoseung-saja are known for being neutral due to the nature of their task and while Gwi-ma does control them they don't necessarily agree. In Korean folklore they ferry the souls between the living and the dead, but in the case of this franchise they may also steal souls on behalf of Gwi-ma.Despite Rumi's connection to her father, she doesn't have any special abilities specific to Jeoseung-saja. Instead she only has the basic demonic abilities such as being able to wield demon magic and having a screech that can break down the Honmoon. She also has patterns like they do but is not subservient to Gwi-ma. They do, however, affect her ability to sing up until the end of the movie.

  Early Beginnings
Mira is the oldest child in her family, born to a pair of parents who worked in various business management positions. Her family was rather well off and owned a modestly sized house with plenty of room to grow a family. Before she dyed her hair it was black just like her parents and her relationship with them was originally somewhat close. Though her family did severely lack affectionate gestures as neither of her parents were particularly expressive. They were closed off and severely critical, expecting perfection even at a young age. At first she tried as any child would, but eventually grew weary of the neverending expectations that felt too restrictive.
She pushed the boundaries with her family, always toeing the line between real trouble and harmless fun. It was her only way of expressing herself with parents that demanded conformity, their ideals based in traditional roots. They expected her to act like a well-behaved young woman, eventually to marry a young man and build a family of her own. Mira didn’t want any of that. She butted heads with not only her parents but authoritative figures in general, often earning red marks and being sent into the ‘corner’ for long periods of time. Despite that, she resisted anything that demanded too much of her, instead focusing on herself and what she wanted. As a way to escape her family, Mira spent long periods of time outside listening to music and practicing different dance routines. She even began choreographing a few of her own to different songs, enjoying the modicum amount of freedom it afforded her. Mira trained her voice on her own as her parents would never allow her to pursue anything professionally. All of the effort she put into herself musically and physically was on her own time and at her own expense.  Training - Debut   Heavily headcanoned & completely flexibleMira began experiencing Mubyŏng at around 10 years old, consisting of various dreams and nightmares of two other girls and demons. At first it was incredibly disconcerting, but eventually Mira grew used to the experience. She was recruited by Celine after attending one of her agency’s scouting events, recognized by Rumi through the shared dreams between all the girls. Celine was able to convince her parents that she was attending a special camp that was completely paid for and educational, though not in the way they assumed. At first she was a little closed off and ‘hostile’ towards the other two girls, wary of anyone who she assumed would try to ‘rein her in’. She was fine working with them during training and remained sort of pleasant, but it took a while for her to come around. Once she did? All of her walls fell apart completely when she realized, for the first time, she was being accepted for who she was rather than someone attempting to shape her. It was a freeing experience that allowed her to really immerse herself in their training and enjoy her life for the first time. However, she was a little critical of Zoey and Rumi’s footwork in terms of dancing. Mira took it upon herself to begin choreographing everything for them, often jotting down notes and sketches for later. She learned different instruments as well as trained her own voice. Mira didn’t mind that Rumi was chosen for the lead vocalist position either - she was just happy to have found a ‘family’ in the others. After debuting, Mira never returned to her ‘family’ home again. Her things were picked up by staff instead and she has yet to contact them to this day. She also chose not to attend High school, instead focusing on her career as a part of Huntrix and a Hunter.  Hunterix  As the main choreographer of Huntrix, she spends a lot of time practicing different moves and formations in her own room. She has several notes attached to the wall to keep ideas from slipping from her, though Mira is insanely good at recalling things as needed. Though a lot of her work is completely customized, she has been known to take inspiration from others and credits them appropriately. She trusts Zoey and Rumi completely and is really keen on maintaining a good relationship with both of them. She is, however, perceptive due to her upbringing and is quick to notice anything out of place.

Companion        Main. Amakos is a trusted member of the Lords of Fortune whose skills involve navigating the seas & land, though the former is more their specialty. They're good with money and reading maps as well as making them on the fly. As an unofficial 'seer' as well, Amakos is susceptible to being temporarily 'possessed' by spirits eager to share their knowledge and insight with mortals. They've never been trained so it isn't something they can control, but they're learned to cope and have even allowed spirits to create 'maps' of the different temples and areas they're exploring. They can be met in Rivain along with Isabella and Shathaan, offering their unique affinity with spirits and maps to the cause in exchange for some information. Despite believing in their decision from so long ago, Amakos is still seeking the whereabouts of their sister.

Rook       Main. Custom background - but follows along the canon event that gets Rook 'kicked out' of the Lords of Fortune. So they were not a Tevinter gallery slave and all of the background from above still remains accurate. However, as Rook they do not pursue their own interests and will not seek their sister until after the events of Veilguard." Amakos was hired to accompany a male Rivaini noble who was hunting for an old relic. Unbeknownst to them, the Rivaini noble was going to sell the relic to the Venatori. Varric and Rook worked together to escape being trapped in a guardian-guarded tomb set up by the double-crossing, Rivaini noble. Rook found an escape route, even though they triggered a cave-in. Many Rivaini leaders lined up to yell at Rook for the cave-in and the Rivaini noble that Rook killed was close to the throne of Rivain. Rook needed to be kicked out of the Lords of Fortune "until the heat dies down.""

Ariella - Amakos's sister

  RETURN     INTERACTIONS     HEADCANONS     VISUALS

Early Beginnings  Despite being a Qunari, Amakos was born in Rivain and has never been raised under the Qun. Both of their parents were Tal-Vashoth who deserted the Qun right after Amakos was born. Amakos themselves was born in Kont-aar, a port-city in Rivain that is currently the only peaceful Qunari settlement in Rivain. When they were barely a year old, their parents chose to depart Kont-arr and head further South, eventually settling in Llomerryn instead. Ariella, Amakos’s younger sister was born here a few years after. It was a peaceful life for the four of them, Amakos’s parents working hard to maintain a home for them all. Unfortunately, when Amakos was six, both of their parents were killed in a bar fight that left the two children orphaned. The two were sent to a local orphanage to be cared for but Amakos chose to begin honing their skills, deciding to dedicate their life to supporting Ariella as much as they could. Though they were grateful for the roof over their heads, Amakos wanted to be self-sufficient early on to avoid any issues in the future. So they learned various trade skills like sewing and fishing, often volunteering to go on small expeditions with the local groups or simply acting as a courier throughout the city. All of their money was either stowed away into a small savings box or spent on new clothing for Ariella while Amakos simply repaired their own. They also bought more food for her and toys occasionally, though the latter was a bit rarer.Only after a few years a freak accident during one job assignment cost Amakos their left hand, forcing them to re-learn just about all of the skills they had picked up. It was a major setback that was demoralizing, but the Qunari simply pressed on, determined to keep building a new life. Even when they were pushed back to the first step again. They sort of managed eventually, but their skills were always less than those with both hands and it had cost them a few lucrative jobs as a result. Still, Amakos persisted.Amakos and Ariella were practically inseparable for years to the point where both refused to be adopted individually. When Amakos’s magic manifested it made them far less appealing even with Rivain’s more neutral stance on magic. As a result, it created a difficult situation where neither could really be adopted. Until one day the head mistress of the orphanage approached Amakos on their own, convincing them to finally release Ariella so she could have the better life she deserved. Unfortunately, Ariella would never agree, and Amakos was forced to trick her into leaving despite her vocal protests. It severed the bond between the two siblings completely, though Amakos would always mourn the loss of his sister.  Lords of Fortune  At the age of 12, Amakos officially joined the Lords of Fortune and parted ways with their orphanage. Due to their youth and disability, many of the jobs they initially took were low-risk and low paying. It was mostly local gigs that allowed them to expand on their skills, eventually leading into their interest in cartography. Amakos spent a lot of time with the LoF’s cartographers studying maps and learning how to write their own. They were taught how to translate the lay of the land to parchment as well as how to use those same maps to navigate as needed. By the age of 15 they were tagging along with more experienced crews, learning in the field and eventually mastering their craft. When Amakos turned 18, they were given their prosthetic hand by their teacher, carved from a special type of wood that allowed their magic to travel through freely. It allowed them to make basic hand gestures and move the individual fingers but Amakos couldn’t form a solid grip on anything. Years of practice allowed them to not only utilize their hand as a magic focus but also write with it as well, special tools crafted to allow them to attack their pens to the digits. Their new hand could never be as good as their natural one but it opened up opportunities that had been lost to them previously.Amakos became one of the LoF’s most skilled cartographers and navigators after dedicating their time and energy into their craft, often leading expeditions through ruins and all across Thedas. They taught themself how to read the stars in order to help navigate the oceans, even occasionally steering the boats as needed. However, after several incidents it was discovered Amakos was sensitive to the spirits around them, unable to protect themselves from spirits who grew too curious. Several times they would suddenly, though temporarily, become possessed by different spirits who lingered about. It could be helpful but not always, the spirits not necessarily manifesting to benefit them.

Companion Questline

Relics left Behind.   Despite making what they believe to be the correct decision so long ago, Amakos is seeking information on their sister Ariella. After her adoption was completed they broke contact, choosing to give her the space to grow into her new ( and better ) life. However, after all this time, Amakos seeks to potentially reunite with her should she be willing. After requesting some assistance from Neve , Amakos is able to trace her location towards somewhere in Tevinter. Due to the instability caused by Venatori precense, Amakos requests Rook's assistance in tracking down the group that had arranged Ariella's transport.✦ They learn Ariella was given to a pair of Tevinter nobles rather than the modest family they were led to believe had adopted her. The orphanage had been gifted a generous amount of money for the exchange and to keep the it a secret.✦ Amakos leaves them alive in exchange for more information on the Venatori nobles that had taken Ariella.  In pursuit of Repentance.   It takes a while and additional tracking but eventually they're able to discover which noble family had taken Ariella. They're an older family with connections to both the Venatori and the Magisters. Amakos uses some old Lords of Fortunes clients to gain access to their schedule, discovering a time in which they'll be away from their home. Despite not being keen on burglary in this sense, Amakos reasons that its their only solid lead. They manage to sneak into their estate while they're away, only to encounter a mix of demons and Venatori prowling the halls. After dispatching the assailants, they not only discover additional documents on a ritual that is to be performed but Ariella herself.Ariella, in the time that they've been apart, has been groomed into another member of the Venatori. She also awakened her own magical abilities like Amakos, but unlike them, seems to attract demons rather than spirits. Ariella welcomes them just as well, using blood magic to restrain Rook & Amakos before they can stop her. She invites them to 'crash' the ritual , vanishing before she can be caught.  Blessed be the Wicked.   Stumbling upon the ritual, they find the Venatori along with Ariella summoning a swarm of demons to assist in their eventual takeover of Minratheous. Rook and Amakos are forced to fight through several groups of demons and Venatori before confronting Ariella herself. They manage to disrupt the ritual and cause the ground beneath them to suddenly give out, falling into a portion of the caatacombs beneath the city.Amakos and Ariella fight viciously until the former eventually comes out on top, using their magic to restrain Ariella before she can attack further. They planned on killing her on the chance she might eventually become an abomination due to her dabbling in blood magic and drawing demons to her...only to hesitate.Rook may encourage one of two options, either of which Amakos will abide by :Kill Ariella. She may turn into an abomination if she continues down this path and she's already on her way there. Amakos will bury her by their old house that has fallen into disrepair and invites Rook to join them. They will commit to tracking down and killing the remaining people involved in this, including the smugglers from before they had spared. They are committed fully to dealing with the Gods.Spare Ariella. On the chance she might be able to overcome this moment, Amakos may spare her. She will still be restrained and awaits judgement but her life will be her own. Amakos will briefly visit her once while she is imprisoned, but the encounter will not be pleasant. They will return to the Lighthouse to ruminate on it for a while with a few of the wisps before speaking with Rook. They are committed fully to dealing with the Gods.

Companion       AU. Lilya is a Crow that has currently been sidelined and relegated to medic duty due to her skills with healing. It doubles as a punishment (in the case of non-crow rooks) for her completely screwing up a Talon plan. She can be found at the Diamond where she offers her healing services in exchange for being taken out of there for a time.During the events of Veilguard, she suddenly begins to experience pain for the first time.

9:25 Dragon - 9:30 DragonLilya Cattaneo is the eldest daughter of the Cattaneo family, a rather old elven noble family that has survived the ages surprisingly well. Their wealth, while not comparable to a merchant prince, was substantial. However, a certain ‘condition’ plagued their family relentlessly, claiming the lives of every eldest after a few decades. It was of course no surprise that Lilya was also born with the same condition - the inability to feel pain. Surprisingly, she could feel everything else, but pain simply did not exist to her. While it sounds like a gift, it was also a curse. Lilya did not register when she sustained injuries as a result, resulting in more scratches and bruises than was normal for a child of her age. She even occasionally caused injury to her eyes, resulting in a pair of goggles being procured to protect them. No Doctor could figure out exactly what was causing her condition, but her mother simply accepted it for what it was. Lilya remembers the countless times her mother would sit her down, encouraging her to look to the future to see how she could utilize this gift to bring their family fortune. At the age of five years old, tragedy stuck. The Cattaneo family’s estate burned down entirely, claiming the lives of the entire family. All except Lilya, the young girl just barely escaping the suffocating flames. Her resourcefulness was remarkable despite her age, enough so that she was eventually handed over to the Crows along with the remaining Cattaneo fortune. She was given to House de Riva, beginning training almost immediately despite the trauma of losing her family.Surprisingly, Lilya took to that well.9:30 Dragon - 9:38 DragonIt was noticed almost right away that the young girl did not flinch from attacks, even as knives were dug into her skin repeatedly. Instead she followed through with each one of her attacks, absolutely pummeling a few poor fledglings who were more susceptible to pain. She was resilient in ways nobody would expect from a young elf, especially when her magic eventually manifested at the age of eight. Due to her condition, Lilya would often burn herself by mistake, leading to scarring along her hands and arms.Eventually she was noticed by Viago de Riva, a master poisoner in the same House who recognized her talents. He took her under his wings despite not being a mage himself, commissioning a tutor for that aspect instead. Viago taught her alchemy, teaching her to craft potions that could help keep her up despite the dangers of her conditions. Lilya also learned a few of his poisons as well, but it was the potions that proved to be most useful to her. She made it a point to learn how to care for herself medically rather than relying on others, especially given how accident prone she was.As she grew, Lilya blossomed into a remarkable enough assassin. Though she had her faults she was great with her craft, her magic controlled enough but not overbearing. She learned to use her condition to her advantage better, often throwing herself in the frontlines despite being a mage. A lot of her contracts were completely with little to no magic as a result, its use simply not necessary to her needs. Lilya was fully recognized as an assassin at the age of eighteen.9:38 Dragon - 9:51 DragonLilya did a mix of solo and joint contracts, occasionally from other House’s but mostly sticking with House de Riva Crows. She became semi-famous for her unique ‘brawler-mage’ style, using her staff to hit people with more than to cast magic with. It was a point of contention between her and Viago, the man insisting on her treating the staff with a little more care. After all, it was expensive to replace and he knew it would inevitably come out of his pocket.Lilya broke about five to six staves over the course of the decade, much to Viago’s annoyance.Eventually her reckless behavior came back to bite her, impulsiveness often taking the place of critical thinking at the worst times. After the Antaam invasion Lilya had become rather tense over the situation, eager to rid Treviso of the Qunari threatening their home. When she saw the chance to save people she took it, unknowingly interfering with a Talon operation months in the making. It was the first time she found herself truly experiencing the repercussions of her actions, though Viago simply sent her away to avoid anything further. It was then she met Varric, agreeing to join him on his quest to stop Solas.

Lilya’s Condition - Companion / Post - Veilguard RookAfter the fall of Minrathous, Lilya continues working with the Crows alongside her companions as they grapple with the Antaam situation. At some point she returns to the ruins of the Cattaneo Estate, drawn to it after nearly witnessing the fall of her ‘home’ again. It’s there she discovers a few missives that lead to another city north of Treviso, indicating an odd connection between her family and whatever is there. She also suddenly experiences a sensation that makes her flinch, causing her to hold a hand up to her single red eye. It had grown slightly brighter but she had only noticed now, especially once she realized what she had felt.Lilya had felt pain for the first time.An expedition to the city mentioned brings them to an old home, completely abandoned and hidden away. After further searching they discover a secret covering that leads to a passage beneath, uncovering an odd ritual site. The veil feels thinner here, eventually several demons emerging and instigating a battle. It’s here where Lilya feels yet another pang of pain before a sudden surge of magic pulls them all into the fade against their will. There, they come face to face with a massive demon - Ego. He is enormous, bigger than an Ogre. It is here they discover the origins of Lilya’s condition - an act of blood magic that had been passed down through the generations. Her ancestor had made a deal with Ego long ago, each generation offering a sacrifice in exchange for their freedom. Every single firstborn had been “gifted” a mark directly into their eye at birth, allowing their natural magic to hide away the traces of others over the years. It was in fact a direct connection to Ego, absorbing pain until a certain point. Only then would Ego seek them out, feasting on these eyes full of pain as his payment for their family’s safety.Lilya’s reckless and unique circumstances had caused the limit to be breached earlier than normal, resulting in Ego guiding them to him. As with every cursed Cattaneo child, he offered them a choice - they could remain pain-free forever in exchange for their eye, though the next generation would continue to be burdened with this curse. The alternative? They could break the agreement and retain their freedom for future generations as well. However, they would have to endure every bit of pain Ego had shielded them from over the years. Should they succeed, they would still lose their eye but they would be free from their deal as well as their future generations. Of course, they would also begin to experience pain again.> Accept Ego’s terms and remain pain-free forever, cursing the next generation as a result.> Accept Ego’s alternative terms and experience 28 years of pain in an instant, potentially dying as a result. Should they succeed they and their future family would be free of Ego permanently.

Grey Warden        Main. Default verse for this blog. May be used in any timeline. Alistair remains a Grey Warden and abdicates the throne to Anora rather than marrying her. He joins the Wardens permanently and assists in helping clean up the blight across Ferelden.• Logain is executed.
• Alistair abdicates the throne to Anora and does not use the name Theirin.
• He eventually becomes a Senior Warden regardless of his affiliation with the Hero of Ferelden if they still live.
• He participates in the dark ritual. Alistair keeps in touch with Morrigan, but only meets Kieran during Inquisition.

King of Ferelden       Side Verse. Alistair takes up the throne in order to unify Ferelden once more, though it is reluctantly. He may either marry Anora or the Hero of Ferelden (Cousland ONLY) and will rule Ferelden together. Alistair grows into the role regardless and becomes a strong King over the years. He does leave the Grey Wardens permanently.• Logain may be executed or spared. If spared, his relationship with the Hero of Ferelden will be tenuous unless Logain sacrifices himself during the final battle.
• His union with Anora is not romantic in the slightest. They rule together out of necessity.

Notes: As this is a Grey Warden focused Alistair, many current comics will not apply due to Bioware's canon having Alistair serve as king. I may write Alistair as King but it will be considered a Side Verse and is not the one I default to. For plotting purposes, I will write either King Alistair or Grey Warden Alistair.  Childhood  Alistair was raised in Redcliffe by Arl Eamon Guerrin, ignorant to his true parentage. He was assumed to be the child of a servant who died during childbirth and the half-brother to Goldanna. Unbeknowst to him, he was actually the child of King Maric Theirin and Fiona, an elven mage. She desired for him to be raised away from the burden of the Theirin name and the title of 'elf-blooded'. Arl Eamon agreed to raise him in order to protect the honor of his sister Queen Rowan. Though Arl Eamon was aware of his bloodline, he kept a secret from everyone, including his own wife Arlessa Isolde. Suspicious of the possibility of Alistair being Arl Eamon's child, Arlessa demanded that Alistair be sent away. Eamon acquiesced to her demands and sent Alistair to be raised in the Chantry in Bournshire.Alistair hated his life at the Chantry - he was angry with Arl Eamon for a long time. He refused to meet him when the Arl visited to the point where Eamon eventually stopped coming to see the boy. Though Alistair wasn't fond of a life of devotion, he did accumulate a majority of his fighting skills during his time with the Chantry. Though he does begin his training as a Templar, he never takes his vows nor does he take lyrium himself. He was conscripted by Duncan, Commander of the Grey Wardens, despite the Chantry's protests through the Rite of Conscription. He was initially upset after discovering the downsides of being a Warden, but eventually found a place for himself amongst them. It was the first time he felt like what he wanted was being considered rather than those around him. Though he was aware of his background - as was Duncan - it also didn't seem to matter to the Wardens either. For the first time in his life, he felt like he himself mattered above his bloodline.  Origins  By the time the Hero of Ferelden is conscripted by Duncan, Alistair is the most recent recruit. The other recruits as his Joining had died, leaving Alistair to be the only survivor of that small trio. He is tasked with helping the new recruits prepare for their own joining, venturing out into the Korcari Wilds to retrieve vials of Darkspawn blood. There they meet Morrigan and Flemeth, both of whom he distrusts. Despite his previous training as a templar, his feelings are due to the unknown rather than their origins as mages/'witches'.After they return to Ostagar, Alistair is present when the Hero of Ferelden completes their joining. He and the Warden are assigned the duty of lighting the beacon on top the Tower of Ishal. He isn't initially happy with it, preferring to help Duncan and the other Wardens, but accepts the task nonetheless. He and the Warden fight their way through a swarm of Darkspawn to the top, lighting the beacon the moment they're able to. Unfortunately, Logain orders his men to retreat, leaving Cailan and Duncan to fend for themselves. The tower is overrun by Darkspawn and the Wardens are left unconscious. They're rescued by Flemeth and Morrigan and nursed back to health. After embarking on their journey to utilize the Grey Warden treaties to build up a new army to face the blight, Alistair reveals his parentage on their way to Redcliffe. He expresses that he does not desire the throne and would prefer to avoid it entirely if possible. He is, however, willing to do what it takes to reunite Ferelden against the blight. During their travels, Alistair tracks down Goldanna - his presumed half-sister, only to discover her resentment for him. After the Landsmeet, Alistair abdicates his right to the throne in favor of Anora. Logain is executed for his crimes and Alistair remains with the Grey Wardens to fight the Archdemon. He participates in the dark ritual reluctantly in order to prevent him or the Hero of Ferelden from dying in the final battle. Though he is willing to sacrifice himself, he also understands the Ferelden Grey Wardens are nearly decimated as is - it makes sense to attempt to spare the both of them to rebuild the order.Following the fall of the Archdemon, Alistair is charged with helping clear out the Blight with additional Warden reinforcements from Weisshaupt.  DA:2  Alistair remains with the Grey Wardens and continues working on helping Ferelden recover after the Fifth Blight. He briefly visits Kirkwall during the beginnings of the Qunari-Kirkwall incident but is unable to assist in the current conflict. Unfortunately, Grey Wardens are not supposed to involve themselves in political matters - their incident in Ferelden was bad enough. He also happens to be involved in a secret mission that he is unable to speak on. He gifts Hawke with an amulet that originally belonged to the Hero of Ferelden before departing.  Inquisition  As of Inquisition, Alistair is investigating both the potential corruption within the Wardens and Corypheus when he is contacted by Hawke. Though the Warden sect in Inquisition is Orlesian, the Fereldan Wardens too had began to hear the false calling and heeded Warden-Commander Clarel's call to Adamant Fortress. Alistair had rejected the notion of using blood magic in an attempt to stave off the calling, believing it to be caused by Corypheus rather than real. He was branded a traitor by Warden-Commander Clarel and is forced into hiding. He joins the Inquisition to help fight Corypheus and investigate the Wardens. In the middle of battls, he is introduced to his son Kieran - but does not introduce himself as his Father nor does Morrigan. Though he is curious as to what she spoke about him, he is on far better terms with Morrigan than he had been in the past. It pains him to be an 'absent father' but he understands the necessity behind it.While trapped in the fade, after discovering the Wardens involvement in the breach, Alistair will defend them under the pretense of them being controlled. He will argue with Hawke and accuse the other of having just as much involvement due to causing the mage rebellion. Hawke is chosen as the sacrifice, leaving Alistair to lead the Wardens in Clarel's absence. He will accept whatever the Inquisitor decrees, though he himself returns to Weisshaupt to update the order on what had happened.  Veilguard  As of Veilguard, Alistair has been a Warden for 22 years. Though he has not heard his calling yet, he knows it is likely coming soon. He remains a Senior Warden in charge of recruitment in the South, eventually remaining in Ferelden following the God's attacks. Alistair writes to Weisshaupt regularly, keeping the First Warden and others up to date on the condition of the South.Plotting purposes: He may travel North after the fall of Weisshaupt in order to assist with the Gods directly. Alistair will join the Wardens in the Hossberg Wetlands briefly to assist before returning his attention back to the South.

Childhood  Sten was cared for by the Tamassrans as all young Qunari in the Qun are, never knowing nor caring to learn about his parents. He was born specifically to join the Antaam, the military force of the Qunari. Sten was unique in that he was born hornless, a rare trait among the Qunari - but one that did not interfere with the life he was expected to lead. As the Qun is all he knew, Sten did not want for anything else - accepting his role within the Qunari rather easily. He was trained for combat and excelled in that regard. Sten joined the Antaam at a young age and began working with them as a child, to the point where he could be found in Antiva in Dragon 9:03. Sten learned the common tongue from his time there as well as a bit of Antivan before retreating back to rejoin the Antaam once more.He would eventually return as a Karasaad, commanding an unusually high knowledge of the languages spoken on the mainland. Sten was in command of a small force that engaged the Tevinter people for some time, until they were forced to retreat. Sten openly argued with the current Arishok about their strategy, highlighting the need for more subtle and intellectual approaches to the war. Though the Arishok did not necessarily believe him at the time, he did trust Sten and eventually assigned him a new mission : investigate the blight in Ferelden.  Origins  Sten was in charge of a small group of Qunari investigating the Blight when darkspawn attacked them. He was knocked unconscious during the fight, only to awaken later after being rescued by a farmer with his family. During the fight he had lost his sword - Asala - and the knowledge of this caused him to panic and kill the farmers and their children. To one of the Antaam, their sword is their soul and it was considered a disgrace to return without it. However, he was able to recognize the mistake he had made, acknowledging that he had forfeited his honor. Sten allowed himself to be captured and was locked away in a cage in Lothering. After Sten is freed, he will be convinced to atone for his crimes by combatting the blight. He can come off as short and blunt at the beginning, as he fully believes in the Qun and is rigid in his beliefs. Sten believes that one's path is determined at birth rather than something they can change throughout their life, struggling to come to terms with the idea of a female warden. He does not believe one can choose for themselves - life does it for them.At some point, he will express a desire to locate Asala. Asala can eventually be tracked down to a Dwarf in Redcliffe. Once he has his sword, Sten will acknowledge that his honor had been restored to him and will continue to commit to fighting the blight alongside the Warden. Int he aftermath of the Archdemon's defeat, Sten will return to Seheron.  DA:2  Following the death of the Arishok in Kirkwall, Sten takes over the position as Arishok. He is in the middle of an altercation with Magister Titus when Alistair, Isabela, and Varric arrive. Though he has them arrested, he greets Alistair with respect - calling him basalit-an ( a non-qunari worthy of respect ). As he is attempting to deal with Magister Titus and he knows they are after Alistair, he refuses to release them.It leads to an altercation between the group in which Sten is defeated by Alistair. Though he expects to be killed, Alistair refuses - instead he offers to once again team up against the Magister. Sten agrees and he and his forces alongside the trio lead an attack against Ath Velanis. After Titus is defeated, Sten has his forces return to Par Vollen once more, allowing Alistair and his group to continue on undisturbed.  Inquisition  As of Inquisition, Sten is still the Arishok of the Antaam. Due to the situation with the Breach, the Qunari Triumvirate sent Iron Bull to investigate further. While Sten was satisfied with the decision, not all of the Antaam ( as well as the Ben-Hassrath) were satisfied with the decision. Small factions within both the Antaam and Ben-Hassrath initiated a plan known as "Dragon's Breath" in order to deal with the threat of both the breach and Fen'Harel. They were subsequently defeated.Despite the defeat, the Antaam against Sten insisted that the Bas must be culled rather than converted to the Qun. When Sten disagreed, he was attacked by his kithshoks for being 'corrupt' and nearly killed. A few loyal soldiers managed to prevent his death, though a majority of the Antaam choose to break off at this point. Sten refused to do so, instead renouncing his Antaam status as well as his Arishok title. He joins the Ben-Hassrath instead, remaining loyal and true to the Qun.  Veilguard  Headcanon basedAs of Veilguard, Sten is still apart of the Ben-Hassrath, serving as apart of the defense branch. His injuries from the attack have healed by now, allowing him to once again be formidable in combat. He requests to once again venture down south. adamant on stopping the Antaam as they have strayed from the path of the Qun. He considers them all to be Tal-Vashoth and needing to be culled before they can dishonor the Qun further. Though Sten is loyal to the Qun, the Bas are to be converted not killed. Though Sten is much older than he was when he combatted the Fifth Blight, he is still a formidable warrior and willing to die for his beliefs.

Warden Antoine        Main. Default verse for this blog. Antoine is a Grey Warden with no specific affiliation to any sect despite being from Orlais. He is an unaffiliated Warden that travels throughout Thedas with his wife, Evka Ivo. Antoine specializes in alchemy & tinkering, with an emphasis on explosives.• He is a werewolf but a dormant one. The demon that bite him is not dead but trapped in the fade - their connection is the reason for his heightened sensitivity.• the HoF part in his bio is purely indulgent and not required for any HoF interactions. I just like the concept to consider given his work with the blight in Veilguard.
Werewolf       Side Verse. In this verse, the demon is freed from the other side of the veil due to either the breach or solas's ritual depending on the timeline. It triggers his werewolf curse to active entirely, forcing a transformation against the elf's willpower. Due to distance and his own determination, Antoine maintains fragile control over himself.• for pre-veilguard transformation, he can be a werewolf by the time Rook meets them. He will maintain control due to the blight's mutated song & distance from the demon. However, he is still subject to various urges and is exceptionally difficult to sate hunger-wise.• for post/during veilguard transformation, the full transformation happens after the events of veilguard. distance still plays a factor but without the god's song disrupting the blight, nothing remains to prevent the transformation.

9:23 Dragon - 9:41 Dragon  Antoine is the only child born to a pair of unknown elves in an orlesian alienage, left behind after only a few months when illness claimed their lives. A sickness had broken out throughout the city, originating initially from the elven alienage. In order to prevent further spread, the elves were barred from leaving, forced to endure the onslaught of plague until it eventually passed. Many lives were claimed in the process but Antoine was fortunate enough to survive, albeit without his parents. He was taken to the alienage’s orphanage, raised alongside the other children who had also lost their parents to the illness.Life in an alienage was not a pleasant experience as the elves inside were often forced to endure all kinds of hardships. They were deprived of certain luxuries only afforded to the humans outside and often locked away in the event of riots or other misfortune. It was less clean than the rest of the city due to neglect, the elves forced to manage themselves the best they could. In the center stood a grand oak tree, the area around it completely cleared, a revered section of the alienage. It was known as the Vhenadahl, or “tree of the People” and was considered sacred to the city elves. Antoine spent a lot of time by the tree in his youth, staring at the different decorations adorning its limbs.A lot of his early childhood was spent helping around the alienage with little chores here and there, enjoying the community aspect despite the harsh conditions. The small elf found enjoyment from bringing smiles to others faces and assisting the best he could. Even when he had little to offer himself. It filled the loneliness he often experienced in the middle of the night, surrounded by other sleeping children and a leaking roof. What he lacked in intimate companionship he made up for in something greater than himself. When he wasn’t helping out he spent much of his time fiddling with a slingshot and tools, crafting toys out of the wood that fell from nearby trees. Since they had little to themselves he was forced to make his own toys, a task he found quite enjoyable. Antoine escalated it from there, moving on from whittling branches to creating more mechanical creations. Everything was small and put together of tossed parts, but some of them worked. A lot of the toys he managed to fix up were given to the other children, though he kept a few for himself. As he grew older, Antoine was able to not only land a steady job but also carve out a little home for himself in the alienage. It was an older little hut, complete with holes and pieces of cloth covering the windows. There was a single room with a little mat he could sleep on and a fire pit in the center - the most rudimentary of homes available. Antoine loved it anyways though, filling the room up with little inventions and notes he made as he pursued his own hobbies. A few books as well as he earned more coin, spending it all on fables and stories rather than saving. He enjoyed his life for what it was and never sought more.Until he was eighteen, offered a job by a passing noble out in the countryside of Orlais. It was a temporary summer gig, something that paid more but required him to live out there for a little. The elf accepted it eagerly, fascinated by the prospect of experiencing something different. He left his home to be used by some of the homeless, trusting them to care for it in his stead while he left for his temporary job.  9:41 Dragon - 9:48 Dragon  After several years of visiting the countryside, Antoine had managed to land himself a more permanent position rather than just temporary. It was still only a summer job of course, but he was enlisted each time, the noble pleased with his work ethic. He was eager to please and dutiful with his work, always aiming for perfection even when it wasn’t asked. Though he had earned himself a bit of a reputation for being eccentric, often using his own quarters to test out different inventions and mixtures. He had started a fire or two on a few occasions but was quick to put it out, smoke eventually a norm coming from his room. One evening, the estate was beset upon by darkspawn, their howls echoing through the night. It was pure pandemonium, the servants and nobles scattering in a panic as the creatures descended on them quickly. A few servants had become trapped inside the kitchen, screaming as a small horde broke its way through the door. Antoine, in a fit of impulse, shouted at the darkspawn to draw their attention towards himself. It worked, causing the horde to pursue him relentlessly through the halls. He drew them outside, attempting to use his environment to his advantage to trap them. Unfortunately one managed to slip through his makeshift trap of lumber, sinking its teeth into his arm before he could escape. He managed to use a small knife on hand to kill it, but it was too late. He was blighted. The illness settled in rapidly, his conditioning deteriorating until he was hardly coherent. He was ravaged by fever and nausea, the taint spreading through his veins rapidly. It became harder to breathe, but he endeavored either way, struggling against the plight he found himself in. Luckily, at the very edge of death, he found himself staring into the eyes of a Warden, a woman who captivated the last shreds of his mind in an instance. In an effort to save him he was taken with the Wardens back to their nearby camp, undertaking the Joining with the help of a few other Wardens. He couldn’t stand himself, limbs trembling as he was held up. Despite his condition, he survived. It took a few days, but Antoine’s health improved dramatically alongside his mood, the elf rather enamored with the prospect of being a ‘hero’. Though he was short and lithe he took to training eagerly, forcing himself to endure the rigorous trials set before him. He discovered he was rather proficient with a bow - to his utter delight - and his training was refocused there. Antoine did not get to train for too long before Evka was tasked with taking him to an output, the duo setting off on their trek with horses. Though, they would eventually be redirected towards Weisshaupt instead.Unfortunately, they came across the village of Eichweill, ravaged by an unknown monster that stole people from their homes. Antoine, eager to help, sought to discover the source of their plight. It turned out to be werewolves, a Hunger demon transforming a man named Renke into an insatiable beast. With the help of Evka and the villagers, the duo were able to defeat the werewolves. However, Antoine was bit in the process, a curse forced into his body that lay dormant due to the demon being banished. It affected him deeply regardless though, altering his senses and causing him to be far more sensitive to the blight than normal. After that incident, they eventually managed to return to Weisshaupt, Antoine reassigned to a different group of Wardens temporarily. Unfortunately, his reckless behavior was difficult for others to manage, the elf eventually returned to Evka's side.Evka and Antoine traveled throughout Thedas together, following different leads on top of assignments they were given. Antoine found himself drawn to every little problem, a strong desire to save as many people as he could. He risked himself plenty of times, much to Evka's chagrin, but their bond grew and grew with every day. The first time he asked her to marry him she declined, but he was relentless, turning it into a daily game. Eventually it ended when she turned the tables - Evka asked him to ask her again before he could. He did so without hesitation, cementing their love with a kiss.  9:48 Dragon - 9:52  Antoine remained by Evka’s side permanently following their union, even as she was promoted to High Constable and he remained an average Warden. Due to his sensitivity and craft, he was afforded a little more leeway to pursue his own interests, eventually studying the blight by accident. He was an alchemist first, inventing different chemical concoctions with various explosive and corrosive effects. However, the ability to hear and sense the blight in the way that he did allowed him to study it better, the elf often taking notes during their travels. He donated every single writing of his to the Wardens, wanting all of the knowledge to be accessible.During one of their visits to Weisshaupt in the middle of their travels, Antoine was met by the Hero of Ferelden, the elusive hero seeking a cure for the blight. His studies and knowledge were known - though the elf could not offer much help regrettably. Antoine was able to craft a few potions in secret in hopes that it might offer the Senior Warden more time, though he chose not to share this information publicly. Despite his optimistic nature, he did not wish to create hope where it might not be found, especially with untested vials he would never see the results of. The HoF vanished shortly after and Antoine has not heard from them again. After the events of Veilguard, he and Evka were assigned to a remote outpost as a punishment for assisting a reckless Warden in their venture. Antoine didn’t regret the decision as it had saved many lives, but it did separate him from his studies for a while. Eventually they discover they are guarding the last known griffons in Thedas and he makes several notes to assist them in the future. They transfer to Lavandel briefly to fight back against the blight in the Hossberg Wetlands.
